Waypoint Lighting has secured millions in rebates from more than twenty utilities in ten states along with certified section 179D federal tax deductions of well over $3 million. Completed lighting retrofit projects have resulted in over six megawatts (MW) of demand savings, 31,300,000 kWh of energy savings, and $3,200,000 in reduced utility cost. Completed lighting projects have reduced customers' annual greenhouse gas emissions by over 24,000 tons which continue to accrue each year. We pride ourselves on our repeat customers who are now trusting us to guide them through the LED revolution by replacing their now outdated fluorescent systems we installed 8-10 years ago.
PROJECT RESULTS
CASE STUDY
In the GE Oil & Gas project shown below the total number of fixtures was reduced from 506 to 268, lowering installation, labor and material cost. Noting the use of large gantry cranes, Waypoint recommended that a staggered diamond pattern be used instead of the previous parallel grid arrangement. This design allowed the light from the new fixtures to always shine underneath the cranes improving employee safety and productivity. New LED fixtures that GE had planned to mount directly to the cranes was no longer needed. Waypoint's competition proposed a one-for-one replacement which would have missed an important opportunity for our client to decrease energy consumption and improve operations for the next twenty years.
